Southern Ohio Health Care Network Projects
Connecting Appalachia
Buoyed by the benefit of strong public-private partnerships, the project looks to provide metropolitan-class broadband coverage to all of Appalachian Ohio, encompassing a 34-county area centered in Southeast Ohio. Our proposal focuses on a 15,610 square mile region in which an astounding 46% of the area remains unserved and 100% is underserved.
Rural Healthcare Pilot Program
The Federal Communications Commission has initiated a pilot funding program to facilitate the creation of a nationwide broadband network dedicated to health care, connecting public and private non-profit health care providers in rural and urban locations. Pilot program funds will subsidize up to 85% of the costs of broadband connectivity for rural, non-profit health care providers.
